The company’s headquarters are located in Plato Alto, California. This company is known all over the world for its computing, printing and digital imaging. At one time in this company’s history, they catered to the engineering and medical markets.
Today the company’s annual sale for the year 2006 was an estimated 91.7 billion dollars. They are currently ranked number 1as the largest technology vendor in terms of sales. Hewlett Packard is also the number one ranking company in the world. Passing their main rival Dell Computers.
The company Hewlett Packard was founded in 1939, at the time they were manufacturers of tests and measurements instruments. The company was founded by Bill Hewlett and Dave Packard with a start up investment of $ 538. Both men were college graduated from Stanford University. Bill and Dave flipped a coin to name to see who would get to name the company and Bill won and the outcome was Hewlett Packard.
